Founded in 2005, the Greater Philadelphia Healthcare Partnership (GPHP) is a highly successful healthcare sector initiative of more than 120 employer, academic and workforce development partners, located throughout Philadelphia, Montgomery and Delaware Counties, Southern New Jersey and Northern Delaware.
Since its inception, GPHP has trained more than 4,000 incumbent workers and unemployed Greater Philadelphia residents, developed an extensive curriculum of professional development courses, sponsored an annual symposium each of the last four years for the health care community, advocated for sector partnerships at a state and federal level as well as managed training projects that lead directly to employment. GPHP is facilitated by the District 1199C Training & Upgrading Fund, a non-profit labor management partnership affiliated with fifty regional healthcare employers and one labor union: District 1199C – National Union of Hospital & Health Care Employees (NUHHCE), AFSCME – AFL-CIO. |
“Not only has GPHP helped us financially: the support that they've given our new hires at the front desk and on the front lines has been invaluable.” |
